These are some of my favorite earrings to make, I never know what they will turn out like, until the last swipe with a file, brush, polish. They are of upcycled silver plate tray, the wires are sterling silver, they are about 1 inch across if they puff up and hold their breath. They hang about 2 inches off your ear lobe, and the bottom is about 1/2 inch. If you are not a metalsmith the next part may be boring. I cut a strip of silver plate, and sand one side until it is flat, then I shape it, and set it on a small flat piece of silver plate, and use tiny bits of silver to fuse it together with a torch. Then I snip off the excess, file off the rest of the excess, file, sand, smooth, and then add the funky ear wire. All that patina just comes along as I go.
